Women and child Security Organization (WCSO) is an organization that strives in stopping the crime and provide a safe eco system to ensure safety and security of Women and Children. It helps in providing security, dignity and empowerment to women and children in the state. A GO was also issued Dated 18th Aug 2020 which aims to bring different units like Mahila Samman Prakosth, Mahila Sahayta Prakoshta and 1090 Women Powerline to work under a common platform with a single ADG Rank Officer to ensure creating a safe and secure environment for Women and Children.
WCSO acts as a bridge between the police and civil society to ensure public trust through large scale publicity and propagation of Women Rights to Thana Level. The organization will strive to take meaningful steps for the safety of women and children by creating awareness through moduling Seminars and Workshops with the help of Training Directorate among Girls/Women’s regarding sexual harassment in General, Public as well as in Work Places.

1090 :
Since we are aware that Eve – teasing plays the most common crime in our society we cannot deny with the fact that it is equally ignored by our society. Our society is always been liberal in context with it. The orthodox views of the society have left Women and Children in despair.
To stop this massive trend set UP Police has established a 24*7 Contact Center in Lucknow named Women Power Line 1090 which ensures every women in Uttar Pradesh that any hand raised against her will not be left unacknowledged. The helpline believes in quick and prompt reply to the victims who are abused through various forms be it Phone, Cyber, Stalking, Active Stalking or immediate Police Help.
It also provided an extended help to Victims with Suicidal Tendency through counseling with the most experienced Counselors of UNICEF. It is a platform where a women without any hesitation or social pressure of being defamed. This organization keeps the identity of the Victim hidden until victim says so.
Safe City :
The Ministry of Women and Child Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India has launched the Safe City projects in eight (08) pilot cities (Ahmadabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai & Lucknow) to promote safety of women in India. The Empowered Committee of Officers under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Women and Child Development Ministry, has approved this initiative funded by Nirbhaya Scheme.
The major objectives of the initiatives would be an effective implementation of the safe city project in the state which will bear a positive impact on reduction of crimes against women in public places and strengthening women.
Single Window Portal :
A dedicated Single Window System, “Nari Mitra” an initiative of WPL1090,to be launched by the UP Government to collaborate in the holistic development of women welfare through progressive regulatory processes, efficient system, and effective measurable timelines. The platform primary objective is to enable Women and Girls in Uttar Pradesh by facilitating them with the electronic-based transparent system for online submission and tracking of their complaints. Apart from the traditional MIS platform, Nari Mitra will also provide a service-based mechanism system to Women and Girls. Various departments aligned to provide aid to the women and girls will be integrated into the single platform through Nari Mitra to deliver quality and timely services.
The various Departments that will be integrated through the platform are as follows:
a. Police Department
b. Prosecution Department
c. Health Department
d. Education Department
e. Women and Child Development (WCD)
Single Window System is also required to establish communication by the Police department (WCSO) with other mentioned departments working for Women and child welfare schemes to execute schemes effectively. For effectively handling cases, even police require special attention to counseling, physiological, judicial assistance support to the Women and Children. Single window system will address such issues, especially dealing with women related aspects. “Single window system” will leverage women’s social upliftment, women empowerment, security, etc. The single window system will aid women empowerment programs, facilitate awareness generation about various Govt. welfare schemes in the community with extensive outreach
